Season Three: Pattern & Formation

All lessons support Kentucky and National Core Arts Standards in Dance, with an emphasis on the anchor standards Creating and Performing. Season Three focuses on Pattern & Formation.

 

Creating: The following lessons support students exploring pattern and creating simple dance phrases.

 

Abstract an 8-Count (K-3):

Learn to create a dance phrase inspired by a simple activity.

Groove & Flow:

Practice creating and following patterns in dance.

Performing: The following lessons model ways students can share what they’ve learned (in any subject!) through dance.

Life Cycle of a Butterfly:

Use formation to choreograph a dance representing a life cycle.

Patterns in Poetry:

Use pattern to choreograph a dance representing a poem.

The Water Cycle:

Use formation to choreograph a dance representing the water cycle.
